Candidate A Task A: Suggest that they give him cash. Say why. Good morning to the examiners and my fellow friends. I’m very happy that my brother has just received a scholarship to study in England. My relatives and I would like to give him a special gift. We all think that the best gift is money because it will be very useful for him. The first reason is with cash he can buy the things that he needs when he gets there. There will me a lot of things that he will need like new books, stationery, clothes and food. He will also need to pay for transportation like taking the bus or train to go to the university campus. As we know, it is very expensive in England so any money we give him will be very useful. Secondly, my brother can use the money to buy a mobile phone when he gets to England. I think this is very important in case of emergencies so we can contact him easily. Furthermore, he can sms us and keep us updated with his progress in his studies there. Hence, if we really miss him we can just give him a call. Finally, I also think giving him money is the best choice because it is light and doesn’t take up a lot of space. If we were to give him a computer, books or winter clothes it will be very heavy and bulky for him to bring to England. Therefore, I think that it is much easier to bring money and buy those things when he gets there. In conclusion, these are some of the reasons why I think giving him cash is the best choice. To me, it is the most useful gift we can give him. Thank you. Candidate B Task A: You suggest that they give him a computer. Say why. A very good morning I bid to one and all. My relatives and I are very proud of my brother. He has just received a scholarship to study in England and so we would like to give him a special gift. We believe that the best present for him is a laptop computer. Firstly, as a university student, my brother will have to do many assignments. If he has a laptop computer he can bring it everywhere and consequently, do his work anytime and anywhere. Thus, he will not have to share the computers at the computer room with other students and he will be able to do his work more quickly and efficiently. Another point is that when he boards the plane from KLIA to London, he will be able to bring the laptop with him easily because it is compact and light compared to a desktop computer. Hence, it will not be too much trouble to transport it to England. Last but not least, if he has a laptop he will be able to connect to the internet. This has two main advantages as firstly, he can do a lot of research online. The world wide web is a fountain of information so it will be very useful for him to make full use of this technology. Furthermore, he can keep in touch with friends and family here in Malaysia by e-mail. In short, a laptop computer will prove to be very useful to my brother. He can do his assignments, research for information and keep in touch with us using it therefore it will make the best gift. Thank you for listening. Candidate C Task A: You suggest that they give him some suitable clothing. Say why. To the examiners and my fellow candidates, a wonderful morning I bid you. My brother was lucky enough to receive a scholarship to study overseas. We want to send him off with a nice gift so we have decided to buy him some suitable clothing. The main purpose for buying him some suitable clothing is because the weather in England is very different from the weather in our country. There are four seasons there so he will need to have different clothes for different situations. For example, we can buy him some sweaters, cardigans, scarves, snowcaps, thick socks and gloves and many more. These will definitely keep him warm in winter. The second reason is we think that he should have clothes that reflect our Malaysian identity. This is because he will be a young ambassador for our country so if he has a few sets of traditional clothing like the Baju Melayu or formal Batik shirts, I am sure he will not only look good but promote our culture overseas. Lastly, neat clothes make a good impression. For instance, if we buy him some everyday clothes like jeans and trousers with nice shirts and matching ties, this will give him a good feeling about himself so he will walk a bit straighter and talk a bit wiser. Moreover, people will look at him and have a good impression about Malaysian students. To conclude, I think that the best present to give him is some suitable clothing because it will be very useful and will reflect positively on him. Thank you very much. Candidate D Task A: You suggest that they give him some Malaysian foodstuff. Say why. I would like to wish everyone here a very good morning. As we all know, my brother has won a scholarship to study in England. Therefore, some relatives and I have decided to give him some Malaysian foodstuff as a going away present. First and foremost, one of the main problems Malaysians face when studying overseas is that it is hard to find Halal food. We feel it is a good idea to give him some Malaysian foodstuff because it will take time for him to get used to the place and find out where to buy Halal food. Thus, in the meantime he can enjoy the Malaysian foodstuff that we have given to him. The next reason is because some of the foodstuff we are used to having here in Malaysia is quite hard to find in UK. Most students studying overseas really enjoy eating Maggi Mee and sambal belacan. For instance, it is also hard to find the right spices for curry and rendang and so on so if we supply him with enough Malaysian foodstuff, he can eat it whenever he misses home. The final point I have is that he can use the Malaysian foodstuff we give him and cook it for the Westerners there. Sometimes, universities organise events like Malaysian Night and so he and his friends can cook some Malaysian specialities for them to taste a bit of our way of life. Hence, the Malaysian foodstuff will be very useful to promote our culture. In a nutshell, giving my brother Malaysian foodstuff to take with him to England is a good idea. This is because he will have some familiar food to eat when he misses home and he can also share it with his new friends. Thank you for listening to my opinion.

Bahasa Inggeris memang menjadi satu kewajiban kepada semua mahasiswa dan mahasiswi untuk sekurang-kurangnya tahu dan boleh bertutur dalam bahasa ini. Sejak dari bangku sekolah lagi sudah kita diajar dengan Bahasa Inggeris. Bermula daripada fonetiknya sehingga pembinaan ayat dan perbualan. Namun baru-baru ini pada pembentangan belanjawan 2015, kita dikhabarkan dengan berita terdapat syarat minimum untuk melayakkan calon lepasan SPM dan STPM memasuki IPTA iaitu Band 2 bagi ujian MUET. Apa itu ujian MUET? Seperti yang ramai sedia maklum, MUET ialah singkatan kepada Malaysian University English Test. Ianya dikelolakan dibawah pengurusan Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia dan dilaksanakan tiga kali setahun, Mac, Julai dan November. Setiap keputusan, sahlakunya adalah lima tahun bagi keputusan MUET selepas tahun 2009. Terdapat empat komponen yang diuji di dalam ujian MUET ini. Iaitu Listening (45), Speaking (45), Reading (120) dan Writing (90) dengan markah keseluruhan 300. Bagi memenuhi syarat minumum kelayakan ke IPTA, Band 2 perlu diperolehi setiap bakal mahasiswa dan mahasiswa dengan markah di antara 100 hingga 139. Garis Panduan Kelayakan Minimum IPTABermula pada Januari 2015, kelayakan minimum kemasukan pelajar ke IPTA adalah mengikut bidang pengajian yang hendak mereka ceburi. MUET Band Descriptions
Malaysian Examinations Council (Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia) has announced officially that Malaysian University English Test (MUET) will be conducted three times a year, expected to be held in March, July and November every year from 2012 onwards.
Band 6 - Very good user (260 - 300)
Very good command of the language. Highly expressive, fluent, accurate and appropriate language: hardly any inaccuracies. Very good understanding of language and contexts.Functions extremely well in the language.
Band 5 - Good user (220 - 259)
Good command of the language. Expressive, fluent, accurate and appropriate language but with minor inaccuracies. Good understanding of language and contexts. Functions well in the language.
Band 4 - Competent user (180 - 219)
Satisfactory command of the language. Satisfactory expressive and fluent, appropriate language but with occasional inaccuracies. Satisfactory understanding of language and contexts. Functions satisfactorily in the language.
Band 3 - Modest user (140 - 179)
Modest command of the language. Modestly expressive and fluent, appropriate language but with noticeable inaccuracies. Modest understanding of language and contexts. Able to function modestly in the language.
Band 2 - Limited user (100 - 139)
Limited command of the language. Lacks expressiveness, fluency and appropriacy: inaccurate use of the language resulting in breakdown in communication. Limited understanding of language and contexts. Limited ability to function in the language.

MUET Reading paper...
The Reading paper (800/3): Usually for every passage, the first question will be on the first paragraph. They are questions No. 8, 15, 22 and ... so on. They are usually on the "controlling idea" of the passage. The "controlling idea" is the main idea for the whole passage.
We hope you still remember that the first thing you do when you get a passage is to SKIM. Skimming is for you to identify the main/controlling idea of the whole passage. You have to read ALL of the first paragraph (introduction). The first paragraph usually carries the "thesis statement" of the passage or article. And, the thesis statement carries the controlling idea of the passage. Identifying the controlling idea helps you to understand the passage (text) better and helps you to answer all the other following questions correctly.
So, try to identify the controlling idea of the passage and make sure you understand what the question wants.
The other questions, that follow, will be for the following paragraphs and they seem to be arranged in order like "the next question will be for the next paragraph". At most times it is more or less like that. That seems to be the usual way that the questions are arranged for the passage.
InsyaAllaah (God willing) you will get the answer correct.

Jangan Pandang Rendah MUET !! - Siti Aisyah Hello....
Jadi seperti yang dijanjikan pada entry lepas, harini aku nak cerita pasal MUET. Kalau bebudak matrik PST batch aku, dah ambil pun MUET. Dah dapat result dah pun. Kalau bebudak PDT batch aku akhir tahun ni diorang akan ambil. Kalau bebudak diploma, diorang ambik MUET ni sem 5 nanti, kalau tak silap aku la.
MUET ni apa? MUET ni test pasal English la. Selain MUET, ada IELTS. MUET ni standard Malaysia jer. IELTS ni International la, untuk bebudak yang buat preparation untuk study oversea. Kalau kau memang bercadang nak study oversea, better ambil IELTS terus. Tapi selalunya kalau U kerajaan, dia memang ada sekali MUET.
Apa gunanya MUET ni?
Kau orang jangan pandang rendah pada MUET ni. MUET ni penting untuk degree nanti. Ramai budak matrik aku pandang rendah MUET ni, pastu dapat result, kecewa. Universiti yang grand grand banyak mintak band 3 ke atas. Kalau kau dapat 4.00 pun, kalau MUET band 2, susah nak mintak Universiti yang grand sangat ni. Lagi-lagi dalam bidang yang demand macam medic.
Apa tu band?
Camni, kalau kat sekolah ada gred A sampai G, MUET ada band 1 sampai 6.
Band 1 ni untuk orang yang memang langsung tak reti English. Tapi jarang la orang dapat band 1 ni. Kat matrik aku pun, aku tak pernah dengar lagi orang dapat band 1 ni. FAILED.
Band 2 ni orang yang English dia cam kurang sangat. Bukan dia tak reti langsung English. Haa aku perhatikan ramai Budak Melayu dapat band 2 ni. Bebudak matrik aku pun ramai dapat band 2. Ramai juga budak yang akademik dia cemerlang, 3.5 ke atas tapi dapat band 2. FAILED jugak.
Band 3 ni kira average la. Untuk orang yang biasa-biasa English dia. Ramai orang aim nak band 3 sebab band 3 ni kira band lulus la. Dah tak payah risau nak re-sit MUET lagi.
Band 4 ni ramai Cina dengan India dapat. Melayu cam tak ramai sangat tapi still ada la. Kalau bebudak Melayu dapat band 4 dah kira Wowwwwww bagi orang lain.
Band 5 dengan Band 6 tak ramai yang dapat. Band 5 mungkin ada la dekat matrik aku tapi band 6 takde sorang pun budak matrik aku yang dapat.
Ada paper apa dalam MUET ni?
MUET ni ada 4 bahagian. Ada speaking, writting, reading and listening. Ramai orang mengalami kesukaran pada bahagian speaking. Aku pun. Tapi jangan risau sebab speaking tak membawa markah yang banyak. Reading bawa markah banyak jadi kau orang score la bahagian reading. Macam aku, aku score bahagian reading. Jap ni skor permarkahan dia.
Listening and speaking : each 45 marks. Reading : 120 marks. Writing : 90 marks.
Nampak tak reading bawak banyak markah? Aku bahagian speaking memang teruk gila tapi sebab aku markah reading aku tinggi, jadi aku dapat cover bahagian speaking tu.
Ehem apa result aku?
Alhamdulillah, aku dapat band 4. (Sebab tu aku berani nak tulis entry ni)
Jadi apa nasihat untuk sesiapa yang nak improve English untuk MUET ni?
Aku pun English tak pandai sangat. SPM pun A jer, tak dapat A+ macam orang lain. Tapi SPM bukanlah segalanya kan? Jadi jangan runsing kalau English kau tak bagus okay.Jom sesama kita improve English kita. Ini cara aku :-
(1) Banyakkan baca novel English. Secara jujurnya, aku dulu masa sekolah tak minat sangat dengan novel English tapi lepas sekolah, aku try la beli novel English. Eh, best pulak. Jatuh cinta pulak dengan novel English ni. Memang novel English ni mahal. Satu novel English boleh dapat 2 novel Melayu. Tapi apalah salahnya kita berkorban sikit untuk kejayaan kan? Penulis kesukaan aku of course Cecelia Ahern sebab cerita dia tak heavy dan sempoi untuk kita yang baru nak start minat novel English ni.
(2) Tengok cerita English WITHOUT subtitle. Kenapa? Sebab kalau ada subtitle, korang akan tend to baca subtitle tu so korang macam buat dek je dengan apa yang actor tu cakap. Tapi kalau tak ada subtitle, korang akan bagi 100 percent fokus dengan apa yang actor tu cakap. Melalui cara ni, korang akan improve english korang.
(3) Banyakkan cakap English dengan kengkawan. Memanglah malu kan memula. Tapi lelama kau akan okay. Tak payah cakap fully English kalau tak selesa. Cuma selitkan English yang mudah mudah dalam perbualan tu. Contohnya sorry, whatever, I don't care, nevermind, then, thanks dan sewaktu dengannya. Mulakan dengan benda yang simple dulu.
Tu je la kot cara aku. Kengkadang cara ni nampak macam remeh, macam EH BETULKE BOLEH IMPROVE ENGLISH DENGAN TENGOK DRAMA/MOVIE? Yes boleh. Kalau aku dari A sahaja boleh dapat band 4 untuk MUET. Tak mustahil untuk korang. Jangan rendah diri sangat dengan result SPM kau. A+ pada SPM tak menjamin band 6 pada MUET.
Bukan nak show off result MUET aku tapi cuma aku nak berkongsi tips. Mungkin tips aku ni dapat memberi manfaat kepada korang. Who knows right?

marilah menambah ilmu pengetahuan berguna tentang IELTS bersama saya:) IELTS macam adik beradik TOEFL je..tapi, kita boleh pilih nak choose yang mana satu. IELTS adalah akronim bagi International English Language Testing System. Test ini bolehla dipilih kalau korang adalah pelajar atau bekerja di negara yang guna BI sepenuhnya. Test ini diakui universiti dan perusahaan di berbagai-bagai negara terutamanya Australia, Kanada. IELTS diselenggara atas kerjasama University Of Cambridge ESOL Examinatios, British Council dan IDP:IELTS Australia. Test ini dijalankan di pusat di mana lebih dari 100 negara di dunia. under 16 not allowed ok ada dua modul. Academic dan General Training. Tambahan yang lain (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) Modul Akademik (Academic Modules) berfungsi untuk menguji kemampuan berbahasa Inggris seseorang. Modul Umum (General Training Modules)menekankan pada kemmpuan bahasa dalam aspek sosial dan pendidikan. Listening dalam masa 30 minit kita kena jawab 40 soalan Reading 60 minit dan ada 40 soalan. Untuk modul akademik, teksnya diambil dari majalah, surat kabar, buku, jurnal. Selain itu juga terdapat ilustrasi gambar atau diagram dan ilustrasi beberapa pertanyaan. Untuk modul umum, teksnya terdiri dari 3 bagian. Speaking. bahagian pertama yg berlansung selama 4-5 minit, kita kena cerita pasal diri kita, keluarga, pekerjaan, hobi dan topik umum. bahagian kedua pula, kita dikehendaki baca sesuatu topik dan diberi 1 minit untuk pikir jawapan bagi soalan yang bakal diajukan. kemudian, penguji akan bagi soalan apa-apa dia nak laa...dalam masa 1-2 minit. bahagian ketiga, kita dengan penguji akan berbincang mengenai topik yang berkaitan dengan bahagian 2. dalam masa 4-5 minit. selalunya, untuk mendapatkan biasiswa, kita kena raih skor 5, 6 dan 7. tapi the highest skor 9. expert sangat2 ah siapa yang dapat skor tu.

Assalamualaikum wbt Hohoho! Akhirnya aku dapat menarik nafas lega setelah selesainya dugaan, seksaan, penantian, kegementaran dan segala an an an laaa! Actually aku baru habes buat speaking test untuk repeat muet hehhe,, almaklumlah dok tau kecek English gini jadinye.. aku tk puas ati dgn markah yg aku dpt dlm muet yg lepas, so nk tk nk kene R.E.P.E.A.T à (TOT)v
Nak dijadikan cerita laarr.. aku mlm tadi memang dah tukar jantina abes ! dari melayu terus jadi omputeh.. dgn rumet aku pun aku tibai speaking English, padahal just ckp “aii lambat balik??” xD wkwkwkw.. Then, pagi tadi aku bangun terlewat siket.. pukul berape nth tapi nak dkt pukul 7 lar.. nseb baik Keka kejutkn.. wuu ^.^ thanks kejut Keka!
Aku solat dulu baru mandi sbb takut subuh abes, then tiba ... tibaa.. Mak aiihhhh... perut aku chet! Memulas giler!! Ni komfom! Komfom aku dah tak tertahan and terlambat untuk aku pi muet!! Disebabkan itu,, Haihh! 7.30 am orang dah kumpul, tapi aku baru nk streak tudung.. otoke.. ~.~ !
Tikah dah tepon aku, kata biler nak turun.. aku “haaa.. kejap! Kejap!” giler kelamkabut.. urghh clumsy! Aku mmg amek baju yg takyah streak, selendang jer aku streka.. otw nak pi library (sbb aku speaking test kat library) aku sempat mntak doa n restu mama n ayah =) moga2 aku dipermudahkan segala urusan amin! Then! Aku masuk bilik kuarintin.. ok fine aku lambat, so mmg patutlaa candidates yg lain pndang aku ann...sorg examiner tgh ngomel2 depan students kat bilik tu... aku senyum sengeh2 mcm kerang busuk bachen! Pastu aku nmpak ade sorang perempuan ni dok sorang2 then aku duduk ar tepi dia.. sian kn. Dok sorang2... meh aku temankan... aku rase yg lain ni pun main duduk je belum start to sit according to their group.. perh! Menyengat English sampai sangat! Tersengat aku dibuatnya! Haihh..
Ok, examiner pun Tanya, hey girl why u late? Aku jwb dengan sengeh2, hehe rrr.. stomach ache..
Haa mmg aku ni jadi tumpuan 19 orang budak yang lain laa... sbb dtg lambat and.... tiba2 kan.. Perempuan yg kat sebelah aku pun bangun.. hatiku berdetis.. asal laa dia ni bangun tak hormat ke examiner yg sorg ni tgh ngomel2 briefing kat kami?? Pastu perempuan itu pun... mengedarkan paper bag utk letak handphone candidates yg dikuarintinkan.... Saat itu.... aku terpana! Haahh!! Tertampar! Terpegun! Terpaku! Termelekat kat dinding! OMG!
Ok FINE! Aku sebenarnya duduk tempat EXAMINER!!!!!! And yang sebenar-benarnya... aku duduk menghadap budak2 nih! Ooo... aigo aigo!! Go go go go! Padanlah semua pandang aku, rupa2nya aku duduk salah tempat.. diorang yang lain semua dah duduk dalam group masing2, aku jer special siket.. duduk bersama2 examiner! Huk alohh.... ~.~ dah ler dtg lambat! berlagak duduk tempat examiner! haiyooo
So now let gone by gone! Breath in breath out! Takmo pikir2 lagi... alallaallalalallalalalal taknk dengar! Taknak dengar! Ok ! Dah !cukup kesewelannya hanya disitu..! Mau cau dulu, sat gi ade kuliah... math... ergh! Daa wasalam =)

For example, Cyclones; category 5 cyclone hit Australia in 2015, people were warned beforehand through TV about the occurrence and necessary steps were taken immediately to minimise the loss. Similarly, newspapers have articles about what to expect in times of earthquakes and so on. Furthermore, people today are much more educated to take initiatives themselves. For example, individuals nowadays build houses that are disaster proof.
Moreover, along with the citizens, government also plays an important role in protecting its people. According to me, a generous amount of money should be spent on architectural works. Buildings should be made so strong that it even stands high magnitude earthquake. One such example is, UAE, it is currently including iron pillars and iron wheels so that the building can withstand high force. In addition, government should provide to the people with adequate resources to reduce the amount of loss. For example, in cases of cyclones, sand bags should be supplied in abundance to the coastal areas to avoid flooding. Lastly, after the disaster has occurred, appropriate rescue plans should be executed with efficient medical facilities and compensation for the loss if practical, need to be provided.
To conclude, from the aforementioned contributions, it is crystal clear that the government has the major role to play in overcoming the disasters cause by natural calamities. But, to be mentioned, it works better if goes together with the co-operation of the citizens too.

Sample Answer 2: As much as the nature is beautiful, it can wreak havoc and the resulting natural disasters often do not come with a warning. A natural disaster can hit a region any time and it is always thought to be a responsibility of the local government to protect their people from it.
According to me, the government can be held responsible for a disaster that was predicted and could have been averted. For e.g. floods. Region which has high rainfall prediction has a high possibility of being flooded. Such regions should have more dams built which can control the excess water due to rain. Similarly regions with low rainfall prediction should have advanced facilities like rain water harvesting so that the people can get adequate water for drinking, farming, etc.
Having said this, the government may not be able to protect their people in all natural disasters for e.g. a tsunami, a volcanic eruption or a hurricane. Few years back two countries in Asia namely Sri Lanka and India were on the receiving end of the wrath of nature in the form of Tsunami. Thousands of people died and there was a substantial loss of property and livestock as well. Similarly The United States has witnessed many cyclones in history and the people have suffered a lot of damage despite The States being the most powerful country in the world with a strong government at the helm.
The citizens should be aware and take responsibility as well. Local governments of the natural disaster prone areas should take additional steps to forecast and broadcast the news to minimize the natural disaster. The forecasting system and technology related to weather forecasting should be updated to take precaution so that people of the area get the news before the disaster hot the area. The government should allocate a budget and manpower to help the victim of the natural disaster. Thus the devastating outcome of the natural calamities can often be reduced.
Thus in conclusion, I feel that government should be responsible for the safety of its people but in some cases it fails to do so against nature.

Sample Answer 3: Natural disasters are sudden and cause severe damages. The impact is worst if citizens are unprepared to handle the disaster. Though natural disasters are unpredictable, they often follow a pattern. Based on the trend, disaster prone areas can be classified and disaster management plan should include necessary preparedness to handle any such situation. I feel it is the responsibility of the government to protect its people from any natural calamities.
Only Government can frame macro level policy to address various related issues related to disaster holistically. Though, the macro level policy can only be successful with micro level initiatives and awareness. Sample Answer 4: A natural Disaster is a calamity which occurs beyond our imagination and which cannot be anticipated. The exact time of occurrence, its intensity and the damage it causes cannot be estimated by humans.
Every one as an individual has his or her responsibility to safeguard themselves from such type of disasters. The main responsibility lies on the part of the government which is consisting of the people, represented by the people and formed for the people. The government has no role and is dormant, if it does not help its citizens in time of need.
As far as my opinion is concerned I fully agree that government has to look after its citizens during such events of natural disasters which are of large scale. The responsibility of government has to be portrayed in the perilous times and in the times of need when a disaster occurs.
It is well known that a natural disaster occurs naturally and due to its unimaginable fierceness, the intensity of damage it may cause cannot be estimated. As an individual people can protect himself at his capacity but damages to a larger extent cannot be handled by an individual. For a natural disaster whose intensity is unknown prevention and rescue operation should not be underestimated and relief operations of such large scale can only be dealt by the Government only.
It is vital that Government has to act in such type of situations by the way of evacuating people from the affected areas, setting up temporary relief camps, providing them essential commodities like water, milk etc, and setting up clinics to stop spread of communicable diseases. Apart from the preventive measures, Government at large scale can provide help aftermath the disaster in restoring the normalcy which cannot be done individually.
If we see the damages caused by a natural disaster it is so voluminous that sometimes even it is hard for the government to handle the situation. It is obvious that government works for the welfare of the people and without the people government has no meaning. If we consider an example there was a massive cyclone in south India during the month of October 2014, the damage was so massive that there was a huge impact on the everyday life and the Government with all its machinery and Governing attributes in use could restore water, electricity and basic needs of its people within 8 days. Imagine this without the help of government, what a mess it would be?
This type of situation cannot be handled by an individual and the control on every element lies on the Government which can be handled effectively by the Governing body. Finally to conclude the main aim of a Government is to safeguard its citizens in times of need and in times of perilous situation because Government works for the people and without them Government has no meaning to sustain and un-functional.

To begin with, it is mandatory for the government to protect its people during the natural disaster. It is undeniable that the existence of the citizens has given significant contribution the development of a nation. Taxes that are collected from these people have been used to develop public facilities, expand new areas and funding public education. Without the existence of the residents, the country would have no support, no development and no fund.
From the humanity perspective, people are born and created as a social person, which means that people will interact, communicate and help each other. And during natural disasters such as typhoon, hurricane or earth quake, there will be a lot of people who found themselves in difficult conditions. They might have lost their family members and relatives, lost their properties and even some of them were injured condition. For the sake of humanity, the government should provide aids to their residents during these inconvenience events. They could provide emergency rescues, temporary accommodations and provide foods for their people. And once the disaster has passed, government could help the residents by assisting them in rebuilding their homes.
The government's responsibilities also lies on broadcasting the forecast of any disaster and by improving the shelter system in natural disaster prone areas.
In conclusion, I personally agree that the government must help its residents during natural disasters, since citizens have given contribution to the government through taxes. Besides that, I believed that from the humanity point of view, we should help and take care of each other.

Bahasa Rojak... Aku rasa Amazing race lebih best dari explorace ni. At least Amazing race semua sama rata, clue dia lebih stright to the point. Cuma aku tak faham lah kenapa TV3 suka pengacara dia cakap rojak. Sekejap cakap English, sekejap cakap melayu. Kalau nak english buatlah english all thru the way. Ni kesian host kena tukar2. Host dia ok jugak. Cuma bahasa aku tak suka. Mcm si Ari pulak masa mengacara muzik muzik, mengampah aku! Aku rasa The other team is much better tapi terlalu byk mistake. Yg menang last night tu lucky. So takde istimewa sgt explorace. Lain dgn Amazing race di mana you can learn from your mistakes. Sebab kebanyakkan yang menang Amazing race memang pernah buat mistake and terkadang sikit lagi kena eliminate. Itulah contoh bahasa rojak (bahasa campur antara Melayu dan Inggris) yang telah menjadi virus di Malaysia. Si penulis komentar di atas sebenarnya mengkritik pembawa acara TV Explorace yang memakai bahasa rojak. Tapi ibarat pepatah seperti kepiting mengajar anaknya berjalan lurus. Yang mengkritik pun turut membuat apa yang dikritiknya itu.

Setelah dua tahun berlalu dan keputusan IELTS yang diambil pada 2011 telah menemui tarikh luput, beberapa minggu lepas saya menduduki IELTS lagi sekali dan baru saja mendapat keputusan hujung minggu yang lalu . Ironinya, keputusan saya sama dengan keputusan tahun 2011, cuma band di setiap komponen itu ada sedikit perubahan. Beberapa kawan meminta tips, maka saya tuliskan saja di sini supaya senang untuk beri link pada mereka kemudian. Hahaha... tiba-tiba mengalami sindrom malas membebel.
Yuran pendaftaran IELTS tahun ini sudah naik beberapa puluh ringgit. Kalau pada tahun 2011 yuran yang dikenakan hanya RM570, sekarang sudah mencecah RM610. Dan yang sedihnya tak boleh claim dari majikan. Ish3, universiti lain boleh je claim. Sampai ati. (Semalam macam dah insaf tak nak bebel pasal claim sebab alhamdulillah Allah bagi lepas dengan sekali ambil, hari ni bebel lagi pulak. Apa nak jadi ni?)
Kalau sebelum ini saya mengambil IELTS dalam masa 2 hari (sehari untuk 3 komponen, satu hari yang berlainan untuk speaking test), kali ni saya ambil keempat-empat komponen dalam satu hari sahaja. Kesemua peperiksaan untuk keempat-empat komponen ini dijalankan di bangunan British Council sendiri. Tak payah ambil test kat hotel macam dulu. Tapi sebenarnya sama saja, sebab takde pun masa listening dia bagi earphone, terpaksa juga besarkan telinga, dan memang ada beberapa perkataan yang saya tak dapat tangkap. Huaaa...
Kalau nak ikutkan, peperiksaan kali ni diambil dalam keadaan saya tak bersedia. Rasanya saya cuma buat latihan tak sampai seminggu sebelum tarikh peperiksaan. Walaupun semangat buka buku tu dah berbulan-bulan. Tapi cuma buka je la, tak buat pun, jeling-jeling sikit kadang-kadang. Haha.... Apa yang boleh saya katakan, walaupun dah ambil peperiksaan yang sama 2 tahun lepas, tetap juga bila dengar rakaman perbualan untuk listening test tu, tangan saya berlari-lari panik nak tulis jawapan tak jumpa. Maka disebabkan itu, saya habiskan juga 6 rakaman perbualan yang ada dalam satu buku practice test sebelum menduduki peperiksaan. Alhamdulillah, keputusan listening ini yang menaikkan band saya.
Secara keseluruhannya, saya buat semua latihan listening dan reading yang ada dalam buku yang diwariskan kepada saya oleh seorang teman yang telah pergi ke Kent, UK. Semoga Allah memudahkan perjalanan PhD nya di sana. Dia bagi lima buah buku sebenarnya, tapi saya guna sepenuhnya sebuah je, nampak sangat pemalasnya. Huaa macamana la nak sambung study lagi ni? (Maaf, menyimpang banyak). Sewaktu membuat latihan reading, saya cuba set masa seperti yang dicadangkan dalam buku latihan. Tapi memanjang terlajak perahu tak boleh diundur. Memang tak sempat. Sampaikan masa peperiksaan sebenar pun tak cukup masa. Sangat rugi, bila pengumuman habis masa dibuat baru saya perasan jawapan yang saya cari ada di mana. Huhu... Sayang satu soalan hilang markah. Lain orang mungkin lain caranya untuk tackle reading test ni. Disebabkan saya tau saya bermasalah menguruskan masa, maka saya baca semua soalan dan bulatkan nama-nama orang dan keyword-keyword penting sebelum saya baca petikan yang diberi (yang ni kena buat latihan baru kita tau apa yang penting di setiap section soalan) . Kemudian bila saya baca petikan, saya bulatkan balik nama-nama dan keyword-keyword yang serupa. Dan biasanya bila saya jumpa jawapan, saya terus jawab, tanpa tunggu habis baca petikan, dan tanpa ikut turutan section (satu petikan biasanya merangkumi beberapa section soalan). Jadi, bila habis baca petikan, soalan pun habis dijawab. Tapi nak buat cara ni memerlukan familiarity dengan bentuk soalan. Apa pun, practice makes perfect (macam tak layak je nak guna slogan ni sebab bukan buat latihan sangat banyak dan sangat hebat pun).
Writing test adalah yang paling saya takuti. Sebab banyak kes yang mengulang IELTS 'angkara' (hoho, strong word) tak lepas komponen ni. Dan, saya sendiri salah faham terhadap diri sendiri sebab saya ingat band writing test yang saya ambil dua tahun lepas kurang daripada 6.0 (Boleh tak salah faham dengan diri sendiri lepas tu tak pergi check result IELTS 2011 tu balik?). Writing test ni saya buat dua latihan untuk section A, tapi tak buat latihan untuk section B (haiya, sila jangan tiru). Apa yang saya buat adalah saya baca berulang kali tips yang terdapat di dalam buku yang diberi oleh kawan saya tadi. Untuk section A writing, biasanya buku-buku latihan memang akan beri senarai perkataan-perkataan yang baik untuk digunakan (supaya kita tak ulang perkataan yang sama banyak-banyak kali). Jadi saya baca tips tu ulang-ulang kali masukkan dalam minda. Dan, kali ni saya agak berhati-hati untuk pastikan jumlah patah perkataan yang saya tulis mencukupi. Lagi satu, buku latihan juga biasanya akan berikan guideline untuk buat introduction, untuk mulakan paragraph, dan untuk beri penerangan satu-satu apa yang ada dalam carta. Maka saya sebagai penuntut ilmu yang baik, ikut saja apa yang diajar dengan sebaiknya. Haha... Untuk section B tak tau nak bagi tips macamana sebab saya pakai tulis je. Dapat soalan, fikirkan outline isi untuk setiap perenggan dan tulis. Yang penting saya cuba minimumkan grammatical error. Almaklum dah selalu sangat proofreader thesis betulkan grammar saya, jadi tahap waspada agak lebih sikit kali ni berbanding pertama kali amik IELTS dulu (tapi sikit je la, saya tau grammar saya tonggang terbalik lagi).
Alkisah speaking test, saya cuma tengok format soalan dalam masa menunggu (dari pukul 12 lebih ke 3 lebih) sementara giliran saya tiba. Itu pun tengok sambil lalu sebab lagi banyak bercakap dengan kawan yang baru dikenali masa exam tu daripada tengok buku. Kali ni saya tak dapat native speaker as examiner. Examiner saya rakyat Malaysia berbangsa Cina yang sangat friendly. Rasanya kami banyak ketawa sepanjang sesi speaking test tu. Dan macam biasa nama saya yang agak pelik tu selalu jadi 'bahan' speaking test IELTS, cis! Kalau nak dibandingkan native speaker yang agak serius dan saya sorang je sengih-sengih dulu, speaking test kali ni berlalu dalam keadaan rileks dan menyenangkan. Tapi jangan disangka air yang tenang takde buaya. Native speaker dulu beri saya 7.5 untuk speaking, kali ni saya dapat 6.5 sahaja. Hahahahaha..... mungkin kemahiran bercakap saya sudah berkurangan. ;p
Ok, selesai sudah keempat-empat komponen. Bila dapat result IELTS ni saya rasa macam nak nangis mengenangkan betapa baiknya Allah pada saya. Sebab saya tau kalau nak diikutkan usaha saya yang tak seberapa, mungkin saya perlu mengulang IELTS lagi. Tapi nikmat tak perlu mengulang IELTS dan tak perlu mengeluarkan duit RM610 sekali lagi ni, hanya setinggi-tinggi pujian dapat saya panjatkan pada-NYA. Sungguh, nikmat Allah yang mana lagi yang hendak saya dustakan?

I was looking around for some stuff to write here today, when I stumble on this great article. I just realised that this could be why a lot of people tends not to talk in English ( I think I knew about this, but never realised that this is so true!). People are afraid to make mistakes. They are afraid that people would judge their English grammar and what not. Have you ever heard how a taxi driver speaks in Bangkok?He doesn't give a damn whether you'd actually understand him or not. Yet still, you do understand bits and pieces of his conversation, and on top of that, he sounds pretty darn confident about himself.( I salute you!) So dear friends, your aim should not be to talk perfect English as you are learning. Aim to be fluent at English and allow yourself to make mistakes. Give yourself a chance. Make this year the year that you will improve your English.After all, we are not native English speakers. We have our own language that we love:) Saya mencari artikel untuk menulis disini hari ini, apabila saya terjumpa sebuah artikel yang hebat. I perasan mungkin ini sebab mengapa ramai yang mungkin tahu English tapi tak mahu atau malu nak cakap English (rasanya saya memang dah tahu cuma saya betul2 perasan yang ianya benar!). Kita takut untuk buat kesilapan. Kita takut yang orang akan menilai tatabahasa BI kita dan sebagainya. Pernah dengar tak macam mana teksi driver kat Bangkok cakap English? Dia bukan kisah you faham ke tidak. Tapi anda mungkin faham sikit2 apa yang dia cakap. Yang best tu, confident pulak dia cakap. (Cayalah!) Jadi buatlah tujuan anda belajar BI untuk menjadi FASIH dan bukan perfect (sempurna).Berilah diri anda sedikit ruang untuk buat kesilapan. Akhir kata, kita pun bukan orang English ka, Amerika ka yang mempunyai English sebagai bahasa ibunda. Kita sudah ada bahasa sendiri yang kita cintai Note. Jangan translate apa yang di tulis dalam English ke BI direct. Dah dituliskan pun maknanya (lebih kurang). Nanti pening kepala. Thank you.

Bahasa Inggeris memainkan peranan yang penting dalam bidang perniagaan dan teknologi kerana Bahasa Inggeris merupakan medium komunikasi yang banayak digunakan di tempat kerja. Kepentingan Bahasa Inggeris telah berkembang dalam komunikasi lisan dan bukan lisan disebabkan permintaan daripada pelanggan dan penggunaan internet gloabal.
Justeru, pihak pengurusan atasan yang menyedari kepentingan penggunaan bahasa ini, telah mendorong penggunaannya di tempat kerja secara meluas. Oleh itu, penggunaan Bahasa Inggeris telah digunakan untuk berinteraksi dengan rakan sekerja, pelanggan dan pembekal. Bahasa Inggeris juga digalakkan dalam penulisan laporan, memo, resume, profil syarikat serta demo produk dan servis.
Kepentingan Bahasa Inggeris di tempat kerja telah menyedarkan kalangan mahasiswa dan mahasiswi dalam permohonan pekerjaan di sektor swasta untuk memenuhi keperluan majikan. Ini kerana kepentingan penggunaan Bahasa Inggeris sudah menjadi perkara yang penting dalam proses permohonan pekerjaan.
